Okay, these fortune cookies are not ntechnically “softies” but we can get around it by suggesting that you could actually add a tuft of stuffing into each cookie to puff them up a bit and thereby create crocheted fortune cookie softies

Too cute not to make, don’t you think?

Seriously, these donuts are looking good enough to eat and I’m pretty sure that if I made these and gave them to my 2 year old, she would bite into it without thinking twice

With Summer just around the corner here in Australia, this softie cone-&-triple-scoops-ice-cream seems very fitting! But then again, there is always an excuse for ice-cream any time of the year - especially softie ice-cream

{image credit: Unfurled}
Free Pattern and instructions are in jpeg format. Just save the images to your computer and print out. Unfurled has made her softie by hand (rather than using a sewing machine) so if you plan to use a sewing machine to make this one, you may need to do some of the steps differently in order to join pieces together.
Imagine the fun combinations you could come up with for the triple scoop!

Ku of Shishi Girl kindly emailed me about a few other free patterns she has on offer for you! First up, felt fruit - a strawberry (ichigo) and a persimmon (kaki) {image credit for both: Shishi Girl}:

These are easy to make and are hand-sewn. I’m looking forward to making these for my girls’ felt food collection.

Do you love apples? I love apples! Delicious to munch on and great in cakes. I also like apples in artwork and they seem to be a favoured motif in many indie craft designs. So perhaps it is no surprise that softie apples are pretty popular too - and here is a free pattern for you:

{image credit: Honda Quilt Fair}
How awesome do they look all grouped together like that?! This is a fun way to use up your fabric scraps and you can also use this as a pincushion.
The instructions for the apples are in Japanese but the diagrams provide enough information so you don’t need to be able to actually understand the words. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the PDF template.
