She has provided two versions of the pattern - one with the curly tail that you can see in the picture above (which would require a loop turner) and another version with a stubbier tail (and therefore would not require a loop turner).

Amazing right? Well, Kirsten (aka Mediatinker) has kindly posted up the pattern for free so that you can make one of these amazing creatures yourself. She says about the pattern: “For anyone interested in sewing one of their own, I’ve developed a pattern with instructions and released it under a Creative Commons license. I don’t recommend this project for people averse to hand-sewing or turning things inside out—there’s plenty of both involved. But it’s all simple sewing and assembly if you understand the basics of seaming and stuffing.”

Plattie is made of fleece and a cotton print, and the free pattern is provided by softie-pattern company, Funky Friends Factory.
The pattern is in jpg format and can be enlarged as required. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow with very good pictures of the process.
