Thanks to Fawn Pea for sending through the links to two endearing and completely soft and huggable, free knit softie patterns on her website: Cris the Star-nosed Mole and George the Octopus {image credit: both Fawn Pea}

Both of these softies are knitted and then felted. Instructions are very clear and easy to follow, and there are some great tips along the way also.

Umm, wow. That’s what I though when I first stumbled upon this softie:

{image credit: Mediatinker}
Amazing right? Well, Kirsten (aka Mediatinker) has kindly posted up the pattern for free so that you can make one of these amazing creatures yourself. She says about the pattern: “For anyone interested in sewing one of their own, I’ve developed a pattern with instructions and released it under a Creative Commons license. I don’t recommend this project for people averse to hand-sewing or turning things inside out—there’s plenty of both involved. But it’s all simple sewing and assembly if you understand the basics of seaming and stuffing.”

There seems to be a myriad of patterns available for bears, rabbits, dogs, cats, but frogs? Mmm, not so much.

The Purl Bee brings you a sweet little fabric frog softie that is easy and quick to sew up, and pose-able (if you fill it with dried beans rather than wool or polyfill stuffing.
